Chris’s passion for woodworking ignited in the quaint basement woodshop of his grandfather, where the hum of the yankee drill and the scent of fresh timber filled the air. It was there Chris got his early aspirations to build his very first treehouse using reclaimed wood and nails scavenged from the local dump. This wasn’t just any treehouse—it was a marvel of youthful engineering, boasting a two-story design and a pulley-operated skylight that became the envy of every neighborhood kid.

The summer of ’98 marked the beginning of Chris’s professional journey, working as a laborer and carpenter’s apprentice under the guidance of Jamie, a family friend and a respected custom home builder. This experience was more than a job; it was a mentorship that shaped Chris’s approach to craftsmanship. Learning the intricacies of timber framing, interior millwork, and cabinetry, Chris evolved from an apprentice to a Seasoned Craftsman, entrusted with complex projects that honed his skills and built his confidence.

One of the defining moments in Chris’s early career was the cutting of a custom timber frame garage. The success of this project, culminating in a structure that was nearly perfect in precision, was a testament to the patience and faith Jamie had in Chris. The simple words, “atta boy,” from Jamie not only affirmed Chris’s abilities but also fueled his desire to excel in the world of woodworking and design.

Over the years, Chris’s career has spanned various roles—from timber framer to lead carpenter, and eventually to owning a custom wine cellar and cabinetry shop. Today, as the owner of C. O’Neil Remodeling and Design, Chris brings a wealth of experience and a lifelong passion for craftsmanship to every project. His business is more than just remodeling—it’s about creating spaces that reflect excellence and innovation.

At C. O’Neil Remodeling and Design, we believe in collaboration, excellence, and the timeless beauty of well-crafted spaces.
